MARY THOMPSON

Mary, the Managing Director at Fintrepid, is a native of Southern California. Mary’s background, career, and personality make her an ideal fit for Fintrepid, the people and companies we work with, and the work that we do.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from USC, she began her career with Deloitte, first in LA and later in Phoenix. From there, she obtained her CPA license and earned an MBA from ASU, all while starting a career in professional sports.  Mary spent nearly a a decade in professional sports as the Controller for the Phoenix Suns and Senior Manager of Financial Reporting for the San Francisco 49ers. But after a few years in the City by the Bay, Phoenix came calling again, this time leading Mary to a series of positions that would include Corporate Controller for a large, nonprofit health care organization, CFO for a subsidiary of a large public entity and, later, CAO for the parent company.

Following several years in traditional accounting roles, Mary was tapped to lead the establishment and buildout of the Phoenix market for Embark, a finance and accounting consulting firm. Mary’s leadership both on the execution and people side of the firm lead to ascending roles of West Region Market President and eventually Chief People Officer. Being part of a hypergrowth firm in roles focused on execution and people management provided Mary with invaluable experience that will surely help our clients grow boldly!
